Chen Chu "Teddy" Koo, of Tenafly, was investigated by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office following a tip from the NJ Division of Child Protection and Permanency that came in on Monday, Sept. 30, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Koo was arrested that day and charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree child abuse.
He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
Editor's note: A previous version of this story previously stated that Koo had sexually assaulted a juvenile. This story has been updated for accuracy to reflect that he, in fact, did not sexually assault a child. The charge stems from a physical abuse case.
